The Energy Information System for Latin America and the Caribbean - sieLAC integrates, processes and disseminates statistical, prospective and socioeconomic information on the energy sector of OLADE's 27 Member Countries, based on standardized methodologies and concepts that allow for the consolidation of country information by subregion and for the region, facilitating comparative analysis among them.  

The sieLAC integrates the following modules: LAC, World and Socioeconomic Statistics; making information on the different phases of the energy chain available to users on an annual or monthly basis from 1970 to the present, organized as follows:

Infrastructure
  • Installed capacity in transformation centers - power plants, refineries and gas plants; hydrocarbon storage, pipelines.
Supply and demand
  • National, Subregional, and Regional Energy Balances, in the format of a primary and secondary energy matrix and the energy chain flows (supply, transformation and consumption), with annual series from 1970 to date.
  • Monthly indicators of oil and derivatives (JODI Initiative)  
  • Electric coverage
  • Generation of electricity by annual source
Prices and tariffs sheet
  • Oil, natural gas, LPG, gasoline, diesel oil, fuel oil, kerosene, jet fuel, mineral coal, and electricity  
  • Prices: by consumption sectors (residential, commercial and industrial) with and without taxes, to the final consumer; import and export prices.
  • Tariffs sheet
  • Series from 1970 - annual average prices and series from 1988 onwards - monthly reference prices
Reserves and potentials
  • Oil, natural gas, mineral coal, uranium, inventory of oil fields, potential hydroelectric, geothermal, bioenergetic, solar and wind power.
